Honda Prologue: Arriving 2024

The next generation of fully electric Honda vehicles starts with the 2024 Honda Prologue SUV, which will offer a driving range on par with our current lineup of rugged SUVs.

Investing in the Future

To launch 30 EV models globally by 2030, Honda is investing 5 trillion yen (approximately $38 billion) into electrification research and development.

Benefits of Electrified Vehicles

There are so many reasons to drive an electrified vehicle. These are just a few that can directly benefit you.

Low Emissions, High Efficiency

Electrified vehicles are not only more efficient than gas-powered vehicles, they can also help reduce or eliminate your driving emissions. And with a Honda, you’re also part of our effort to eliminate all our tailpipe emissions in North America by 2040.

Savings, Credits, and Incentives

Hybrids’ fuel efficiency can help you save on gas, while EVs offer potential benefits* like HOV lane access eligibility, maintenance savings, rebates for vehicles and home chargers, and more.

Honda Batteries and Charging

Honda electrified vehicles are powered by batteries that are just as reliable as the vehicles themselves.

Designed for Longevity

Built to last and covered by long-term limited warranties, our high-voltage batteries provide a reliable and cost-effective experience.

Designed for Longevity

The high-voltage lithium-ion batteries that power our electrified vehicles are designed for long-term use. They’re covered by an 8-year/100,000-mile limited warranty*, which means less worrying about repair costs.

Our Commitment to Sustainability

We aim to have as little impact on the environment as possible by recycling materials from our batteries.

Our Commitment to Sustainability

We harvest metals and components from our electrified-vehicle batteries whenever possible, and repurpose them in other products. This allows us to reuse valuable materials and reduce waste.

EXPLORE SUSTAINABILITY

Range Reassurance

Electric vehicles offer range that more than meets the daily driving needs of the average American.

Range Reassurance

The median electric vehicle range has increased over 300% in the last decade. Today, the average electric vehicle can travel nearly six times the distance the average American drives in a day, all on a single charge. Coming in 2024, the fully electric Honda Prologue SUV will be able to take you even farther with an anticipated EPA driving range rating on-par with gas-only Honda SUVs.*

Driving Innovation

Our Zero-Emission Vision

Honda is working toward its vision of a full zero-emission vehicle lineup by 2040.

The First All-Electric Honda SUV

The 2024 Prologue will be the first-ever all-electric SUV from Honda, and the first of 30 EV models Honda intends to launch worldwide by 2030.

The Most Fuel-Efficient Automaker in America

Thanks to our electrified vehicles—along with the rest of our highly efficient lineup—Honda is the most fuel-efficient full-line automaker in America over the last five years.*

The First Honda Hybrid SUV

The launch of the CR-V Hybrid brought a new level of capability to the Honda lineup of electrified vehicles, with ultra-responsive acceleration, all-wheel drive, and loads of versatility.

An Electrified Family

The innovative Honda Clarity becomes the first vehicle family in the automotive industry to offer fuel-cell, electric, and plug-in hybrid technology options.

Plugging In

Honda continues to expand its plug-in offerings with the all-electric Fit EV and Accord Plug-In.

Honda + Hydrogen

Honda launches the zero-emission FCX Clarity, named “the most important car in 100 years” by Top Gear. Its fuel cell creates electricity through a process that combines oxygen with hydrogen, the most abundant element in the universe.

Insight into the Future

A culmination of 50 years of Honda research, the 2000 Honda Insight is the first hybrid vehicle sold to consumers in the U.S. Its lightweight, aerodynamic body and unique hybrid motor system helps it receive an unprecedented 70 mpg highway rating*.

A Natural Alternative

The Civic GX (Natural Gas) becomes the first and only fully assembly-line-produced CNG passenger car to run on a very low-emission alternative fuel, helping reduce our dependency on oil as well as fuel costs.

Going All-Electric

Honda introduces the EV Plus, the first all-electric production vehicle powered by advanced nickel-metal hydride batteries. Innovations such as its electric motor and battery would go on to influence later electric drive vehicles, such as the Insight and FCX Clarity.

A Breakthrough in Engine Technology

The Civic introduces the CVCC engine, a major breakthrough in reducing emissions, lowering vehicle costs, and increasing fuel efficiency. CVCC technology was later incorporated into the Accord, Prelude, and CR-X.
